BIEKAPA is committed to sustainability and the environment. This commitment is outlined in its ‘Environmental Policy’ and recognized through ISO 14001 certification.

As part of its commitment to sustainability, BIEKAPA has conducted a life cycle analysis of the products it manufactures. The life cycle analysis is an environmental management tool aimed at objectively and methodically analyzing the environmental impact caused by its products in the gypsum board sector throughout their entire life cycle.BIEKAPA has benefited from the European Regional Development Fund, which aims to strengthen sustainable growth and competitiveness of SMEs, and thanks to which it has launched an Action Plan to enhance sustainable growth and competitiveness of SMEs throughout 2024. To this end, it has received support from the Sustainable SME Program of the Chamber of Commerce of Gipuzkoa. #EuropeFeels.

On the other hand, BIEKAPA has bet on improving energy efficiency and the use of renewable energies in its daily activities. In this regard, during 2023 BIEKAPA invested in the installation of a new photovoltaic plant for self-consumption of 220 kW. This plant consists of 603 panels of 500 Wp with monocrystalline solar PV technology. This investment was added to the one made in 2018 for another 100 kW and has received support from Next Generation funds promoted by the European Union, as well as the EVE (Basque Energy Agency) and the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge (IDAE).
